WELCOME:  Module 1 Session B

In Session B's virtual learning program, we are reflective of how "being coach" requires us to put aside our personal interpretations and beliefs in order to be of service as a financial coach to our clients.

We observed our week and identified the quadrants we spent time in.
We saw how the Certified Financial Coach can use a 4Quadrant/Iceberg Analogy in helping clients to see the relevance of a 4 Quadrant Perspective to their lives.

We practiced in a lab setting your first experience in being the curious observer and we reviewed the next assignment instructions -- you will listen to a client FINANCIAL REALITY SESSION.  Using this second virtual session, you have a second opportunity to practice the first critical coaching skill.

THE FOLLOWING IS INFORMATION WE COVERED IN THE WEBINAR
Feel free to watch the webinar and make copies of the materials for your review

Materials we discussed in our Lab:

LAB PART ONE:
Practicing being the observer  -- your live experience:
Our lab was your first practice using your observational skills and holding the space without being drawn into opinion or your own background story by the client.  It was designed to demonstrate how difficult it is at times to stay the unbiased curious observer -- continually taking notes, observing changes of tone or energy and noticing what the client may be unaware of in their focus on convincine you of how right they are in their opinion. The instructor gave a historic perspective of the 2008-2009 economic situation with the intent of hooking you -- escalating her story and becoming increasingly opinionated and loud.  In the practice she was committed to the story she was telling and yet, it was just a story.
LAB PART ONE FOLLOW UP ASSIGNMENT:  Reflect on what happened during the session and answer the questions regarding how this struck you at the time and what may have been reinforced or newly learned from the experience.  The web form for your answers is located at the bottom of the page.

LAB PART TWO:
Practicing being the observer in a FINANCIAL REALITY SESSION
and finding a client's URSLA:
Our lab continues with your observation of an re-enactment of a client session. Observe your reaction to Maria Vargas as you listen to the session.  Then read the notes of the Certified Financial Coach who worked with Maria

LAB PART TWO ASSIGNMENT :  Now you will have the opportunity to practice your observation skills again.  Meet Maria Vargas, practice your observation skills and then run Maria's URSLA by following the directions below
