1. Review:
In Module One's Session One virtual training session, we introduced an integrated 4 Quadrant Perspective of money.

We discussed the Global Perspective including Cultural and System views.

We then discussed the Individual Perspective and the role of an individual's resilient nature in stressful situations. We discussed how knowing this may shed light on our ability to coach individuals-- knowing it is possible to help a client stretch by developing observations skills -- allowing them to take actions from a new perspective in order to move forward to make a difference in their financial situation.  Your copy of a study Joan King has provided and an optional survey she uses with clients as provided as a download by clicking hereThis will direct you the resilience study download and provide you with information on authors and books discussed in this module  -- including direct links to Amazon.com**

We discussed how we, as individuals, tend to see our actions in one quadrant as separate from the other quadrants.   In doing so we observe how we may not see an opportunity that is right next to us.  We discussed the Gorilla Exercise and how it is a great metaphor to understand the role of a coach as someone who coaches clients in helping them become their own observer -- allowing them to see opportunity and blind spots they may not even be aware of. We discussed the role of the coach is not to point out what the person is missing but to help the client become their own observer; helping them develop self coaching skills.

In the coaching arena, we see how expanding a clients awareness of a 4 quadrant perspective may be instrumental in helping them move beyond their "Rear View Perspective" -- concentrating on looking and living in the past.(We ask the question, is a "Rear View Perspective" a major contributor to living a non-resilient life and does it promote a stressful "way of being" in the world around money).

NOTE:  In the on-site training in January, you will have the opportunity to view a presentation by International Economist Bernard Lietaer (co-designer of the EURO) who will enlighten you further on the Cultural and Social Quadrants.  Bernard serves as Adjunct Faculty for our Certified FInancial Coach Program.
We, as coaches, help create awareness.  We help people feel a sense of comfort about "living in the question", realizing that there is a space that may be helpful to observe between taking action (action for the sake of action) and doing nothing.

Your challange from the webinar:   We encouage to observe the power of "living with a question", holding off judgement and relaxing into the experience of allowing "it is what it is" without interpretation to be present at least 1/2 hour during the week.

In the first weeks of your training, you will be given a general overview of 6 powerful transformational money distinctions. We invite you to be in the quesiton with these -- you are getting a cursary view of what you will learn over the next 6 modules. The first money distinction is to determine from which quadrant you are viewing your financial situation adn your life at any given moment.  Next week we will introduce additional distinctions.   We look forward to helping you become an uniquely trained professional who is able to move effortlessly inside and around the 4 quadrants while gaining the coaching competancies necessary to become a Certified Financial Coach.
