Money is the leading cause of suffering, divorce and stress in today’s world. Conversations about money, wealth and finances are typically infused with fear and scarcity. Most experience anxiety when they attempt to create and/or manage their financial life and/or deliberate their financial future.
A Certified Financial Coach™ helps their clients understand and relate to money and wealth. They begin by helping the client understand their financial reality. The coach is skilled in helping the client create new actions from a new perspective this based in reality and is not reactive. The Certified Financial Coach,creates the environment that allows the client to come to new insights that will allow them to move forward in the financial aspects of their lives.
They partner with the client to co-creatie a relationship of respect and positive effective communication, particularly regarding the meaning of money and wealth and the relationship of money to other areas of wealth and human strength in their life.
BECOMING A CERTIFIED FINANCIAL COACH or taking this training for purposes of CEU or CCE continuing education credit starts with the application process:
You may take coursework to enhance your current training as a coach or financial professional or you may want to take advantage of the full program to become licensed as a Certified Financial Coach.....
What qualifications must I have to become a Certified Financial Coach and what must I do to earn the designation?
To earn your Certified Financial Coach ™ designation you must:
Have the educational background or life experience that qualify you to work with individuals to help them transform their relationship with money
Be accepted into the Certified Financial Coach™ program and complete the education requirement
Participate in advanced coach training modules or have 10 hours of approved mentor hours with a positive recommendation from your coach or faculty member
Qualify for the certification process after a background check, pass the testing and coursework requirements in each module, and completie a personal interview (in person or by phone conference) with a CFC-Board of Governors member
Pass your orals with a score of 70% or more ( in taped conversations of 3 client meetings that demonstrate ICF coaching competencies at the level of Associate Certified Coach, as defined by the International Coach Federation. )
Demonstrate integrity as a coach, who lives up to ICF and Certified Financial Coach™ Code of Ethics, Standards and Professional Responsibility in your interactions with clients, faculty and fellow students
I understand a person can take this as a full program or take the coursework in modules -- one at a time. I want to take the program to receive continuing education credit for my profession -- how does this work?
You have a choice in taking coursework, however you must be accepted into the Certified FInancial Coach program to finalize critical parts of the training in order to receive your certification as a Certified Financial Coach. Some individuals take the first modules of the training as continuing education and then apply for the full program prior to the on-site program. The on-site module is given only one time a year and you cannot attend this module without completion of Module 1 and 2 of the Certified Financial Coach training.
